The most famous example is Jotaro's various hats, all of which are torn in the back in such a way that when he wears them they appear to seamlessly blend into his hair. Just about every important character dresses in the most incredibly fabulous way possible.

There are a variety of construction techniques that can be used to make very fancy looking garments actually very practical: and fancy fabrics are not necessarily more prone to ripping than less fancy ones. Note however that not all fancy clothes are necessarily impractical. Not only is it indestructible, it's almost never a hindrance (unless the story explicitly states so), like an Impractically Fancy Outfit and Requisite Royal Regalia.
Sometimes this is given an explanation (the material is some experimental or magically enhanced substance), but most times it isn't. Such clothing is also often so tied to the character that they and only they can acquire it-it seems to come from nowhere, fits them perfectly both symbolically and physically, and may even sometimes appear from nowhere à la the Hyperspace Mallet.Ĭlothing in animated series also shows near-indestructibility in terms of almost never ripping, fraying, staining or wrinkling, no matter what kind of stresses are placed on it or substances flung at it. Dramatically short dresses or skirts are common examples. Alternately, it may be a version of a real-life style or uniform, cut in ways that would never be allowed in Real Life.
